The League of the Haudenosaunee, also known as the Six Nation Iroquois Confederacy, was established some 1000 years ago along the eastern Great Lakes and St. Lawrence waterway, and is one of the oldest continuously functioning governments in the Western Hemisphere. HAUDENOSAUNEE describes the code of principles and concepts known as the Great Law of Peace which underlies the traditional Haudenosaunee culture and way of life, as it portrays the contemporary Haudenosaunee people - their professions, schools, organizations - a synthesis of the old and new.
