The ever controversial Robert Mapplethorpe is the focus of EYE TO EYE, a documentary about the flamboyant and often outrageous photographer.

As told by Jack Walls, Mapplethorpe's long time lover and model, viewers learn of the forces which drove Mapplethorpe in his work and of the personal struggles which confronted him in the last turbulent months of his life.

Featuring Walls' narration over many of Mapplethorpe's most controversial portraits, EYE TO EYE recounts the artist's evolution and his relationships to his subjects, right up until his death.
